Hello El Oro Way Charter for Enriched Studies Learning Community,
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers that have dedicated their time to the classrooms, teachers and school, throughout the year. We would like to recognize our amazing PTA board members, Fifth Grade Academy (FGA) board members, Room Parents, Morning Valet volunteers, Yearbook Editor, and Lost & Found coordinator! We are so lucky to have our families involved at such a high level. Thank you!
The hardworking El Oro Way PTA Board and students celebrated with silly string this afternoon to recognize and thank the families who donated generously to the PTA Direct Donations Campaign this school year. Music and silly string capped off our fun week!
At this time, our enrollment to the Transition Kindergarten in our residential attendance area is quite low compared to previous years. If your family has a younger sibling who will start TK in the fall, or know neighbors who will be attending, please enroll as soon as possible. Some families need additional time to complete the immunizations and gather records, so starting sooner will be helpful for all. This also helps with planning instruction, materials and organizing classroom groupings and locations. We hope to enroll enough students to maintain the current teaching staff.

Starting July 1, 2026, annual school forms for the next school year (26-27) will be completed online and accessed through the Parent Portal. More information to follow.
There are lots of year end events happening on campus next week and so please plan to arrive earlier than usual and flex your patience and kindness. 5th Grade Culmination will be on Tuesday. Transition Kindergarten and Kindergarten classes will be holding end of year celebrations on Tuesday and Wednesday. Extended families often attend these events so there will be lots of extra people at our school. Please also explain to your guests to prepare to find parking on the street and walk up to the school. All guests are expected to follow instructions from staff and abide by the LAUSD Respectful Treatment of All Persons. All of our kindness and patience will allow for the students to shine as their hard work is celebrated at these ceremonies.
Lastly, it has been my privilege to be a part of the El Oro Way Family. Our school community has evolved and grown to serve the changing needs of the students and community though so many changes in both our world and neighborhood. I fully anticipate that you all will continue to flourish as the next instructional leader takes their place. I hope to announce the next principal next week.
