Good afternoon families and staff.
This is Principal Choi with a message to address misaligned information between the email from LAUSD and from the school yesterday regarding student devices in case of a work stoppage by teachers and staff.
To support your child's overall academic success and prepare them for a potential school closure on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, students will be given access to instruction through district online platforms, such as Schoology. Your child’s teacher will not be posting assignments - it will be a separate set of learning materials provided by LAUSD. The classroom teachers will also not be reviewing nor grading this work.
If your child needs a device, please fill out the Google Form to Request a Device - El Oro Way Charter and you will receive follow up information on device pick up. The due date for this request is Friday, April 10, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. Once the work stoppage is over, all devices are to be returned to the school with your child. Devices are used daily at school and not returning the device will result in disruptions to your child’s participation in school instructional activities.
If you are unsure whether your child has a device, you may check your child’s device status by logging into the Parent Portal. Students who already have an ECF device will not be issued another device.
Should there be a work stoppage, the District will use Schoology as the primary learning platform for students to engage in learning. Please log on daily to Schoology to access student activities and resources.
Please note that this device is provided at no cost to your family for the duration of the work stoppage. Thank you for your partnership in supporting your child's success. If you have any questions, please call the school.
