PTA Pinewood Derby is today after school at 5:30pm in the Auditorium. Come join the races!
Next week will be quite busy!
Open House is on Thursday, May 1, 2025. Classroom Visitations will be from 5:30pm - 7:00pm. The PTA Book Fair will be open after school until 5:00pm. Drum Perks will be holding extended student workshops in the Auditorium at 3pm and 4pm for students in the Beyond the Bell Programs. International Baked Goods will be available throughout the afternoon–this is an extension of the Sweets from Around the World served to students in January to taste the diversity in our school and beyond. We hope for more families to both donate and participate–all proceeds will go to the Fifth Grade Academy at El Oro Way.
Friday, May 2, 2025 will be a MINIMUM DAY with dismissal at 12:53pm.
The week after, the annual state required testing for Grades 3-5 will begin. On May 6-7, 2025, our students will be taking the CAASPP - English Language Arts test. Students perform best when the test is taken in their regular settings with their own classmates and teachers. We ask for PERFECT attendance for those days. An ice cream incentive program is planned to enhance motivation of students.
Summer School (June 17 - July 16, 8am - 12:20pm) Enrollment continues. Beyond the Bell available until 6 pm. Register online at the website enroll.lausd.net. Local schools hosting include Balboa, Danube, Darby and San Jose. Van Gogh has been added. Paper applications are available in the office, if needed.
