Hello El Oro Way Charter for Enriched Studies Learning Community,
It was great to return to school this week after last week’s sudden closure due to the fires around the city. Thank you to the El Oro Way PTA for their hard work year round to build community both in and around the school. They reached out in immediate response to show appreciation to LAFD Co. 18! The teachers are planning additional events for the student body to participate in efforts to support both the firemen and families affected by the recent fires.
We continued our Kindness & DIversity campaign this week with Sweets From Around the World! Thank you to the families who donated, volunteered, and dressed up! It was a huge success - the students enjoyed tasting and learning about desserts from other cultures and countries. Our wonderful volunteers set up beautiful display boards for the students to admire, prepare and deliver the delicious samples of goodies to classrooms. Check out the slide deck!
