Hello El Oro Way Charter for Enriched Studies Learning Community,
The holiday season is well underway as we returned from Thanksgiving Break and started the students’ winter performances. Second Grade students performed beautifully and I look forward to next week’s performances from the other grade levels. Please note that students get to watch each other during dress rehearsals. Siblings will not be released to go and watch the performance.
To keep the celebrations enjoyable for all, we ask for everyone to demonstrate respect and courtesy at school events. LAUSD Board of Education has established a Resolution for Respectful Treatment of All Persons and we need all of you to participate. Check the dates/times below and confirm with classroom communications about your child’s performance. Be mindful of one another when waiting in line for performances. The auditorium is cleared after each grade level’s performance. You will be asked to exit and join the end of the line if you come to a previous show in order to get front row seats for the next performance. Each grade level performs on their own so there are plenty of seats for each show.
Whether you are coming to watch a performance, to volunteer, or attend (if parents/guests are invited - check with your child’s teacher) a classroom celebration, please plan enough time to park and walk to the school. Plan to park legally and note that the parking lot is for staff only. We receive deliveries daily from LAUSD for both food and instructional supplies so do not block the entrance/exit at any time.
If you are dropping off contributions to classroom events, be sure to label the item. Including Grade level, Room Number, Teacher Name, Student Name will help the item make it to the correct place at the right time.
THANK YOU to the hard working, generous and creative PTA volunteers who set up a gorgeously staged brunch for the staff this morning. The menu was amazing and the presentation was top notch! The El Oro Way Faculty & Staff appreciate you so much!
Some parents have already participated in surveys to provide input about our School Budget for 2025/2026 and the upcoming Kindness & Diversity event of Sweets from Around the World. Please do so this week as we plan these important and fun events.
I hope everyone will enjoy the winter break! I look forward to seeing everyone back on January 6, 2025!
Best,
Ms. Choi, Principal
