Hello El Oro Way Charter for Enriched Studies Learning Community,
I hope everyone will have a fun weekend and have a chance to join the El Oro Way PTA and stop by the Restaurant of the Month at Whata Peach - perhaps plan to meet up with El Oro Way friends after dinner to start the weekend.
We will be participating in the annual Great California Shakeout on October 17, 2024. The school’s Integrated Safe School Plan has been updated and the school staff have been preparing and updating all materials. In the next few weeks, you will receive an empty zip plastic bag with instructions on providing an individual comfort kit for use in possible emergency situations. The emergency bin is stocked with shade, portable toilets, privacy screening, first aid kits, water, cots.
Somewhat related, we also ask all families with students in grade UTK - 2 to please keep an extra set of clothes in the backpack in case your student need to change.
Our school is working to complete 100% registration of Parent Portal with ALL our students attached to a Parent Portal Account. We are quite close - at 96%. Some families have accounts set up with an older sibling and so receive all the information from the district. Please add your younger to your account to help us achieve 100%.
Instructional Calendar Survey is open now until Mon, Oct 21. The District is creating the new instructional calendars for the 2025-2026, 2026-2027, and 2027-2028 school years. Your feedback is important to the development of the calendars. The survey is available in the Parent Portal (Menu = Surveys tab) or visit: https://www.lausd.org/calendar.
After school tutoring for grades 2-5 starts on Monday, October 14, 2024. All registered students have been provided with the information through email and a paper copy of the letter.
