Hello El Oro Way Charter for Enriched Studies Learning Community,
The Parent Center was bustling with activity as the volunteers prepped the apples and honey! Thank you to our volunteers who supported our Kindness & Diversity event with Apples & Honey yesterday. A link to a slidedeck is here for you to see how students participated in this event. We hope your children enjoyed the short video on holidays as well as the delicious and fun snack.
El Oro Way PTA is holding the annual donation drive to provide enrichment programs for our students. You may have noticed an eagle greeting the students at morning drop off - this eagle is one of our PTA volunteers building excitement for our school community to promote the PTA and events. Please feel free to participate to supplement the district programs. The PTA enrichment programs include the YMCA PLAY program (anticipated to start in October), the Technology Lab Aide, supplemental supplies for classrooms and grade level teams, field trips for all grade levels. They are also hosting community building events with more restaurant of the months - these are great opportunities for families to make connections with one another.
Wednesday, the whole school will be wearing BLUE to promote National Bullying Prevention Month. At El Oro Way, we value our students’ social emotional well being and integrate social skills curriculum throughout the school year. We also promote kindness and diversity through activities such as the serving of apples and honey this week. We appreciate all the support from our parent volunteers to make events like this happen!
School is closed this week on Thursday - but OPEN on Friday. LAUSD is closely monitoring our school attendance so I hope to see all students here.
